Sara Truckel was born in Nottingham and moved to London when she was 20. After 10 years in the capital she headed further south to the Isle of Wight where her parents were orignally from. Navigating these moves alongside her fierce support for a kinder, greener world, motherhood, periods of anxiety, depresession and domestic abuse have shaped Truckel as a person and her art practice. In 2023 she was diagnosed with ADHD and everything started to fall into place.
Truckel now works from her studio on the Isle of Wight and is a active member of the IW Creative Network.
Alongside her visual art practice, Sara Truckel is also a brand consultant and marketeer trading as Truckel Creative

Artist Statement
Sara Truckel’s art is driven by a profound desire to cultivate meaningful connections among individuals, spaces, emotions, and questions such as women in the 21st century in her work “The Art of Womanhood” and industrial farming in “Human Relationship to their Surroundings”. Through her work, Truckel strives to illuminate crucial issues and facilitate viewers’ comprehension of these intricate relationships. By exploring the interplay between people, environments, and the complexities of human emotions, Truckel aims to create a rich tapestry of experiences that provoke introspection and encourage dialogue. Truckel’s art serves as a conduit for exploring the nuances of our shared human experience, inviting viewers to engage deeply with the themes and ideas presented, thereby fostering a greater sense of connection and empathy within our society.
